JAMMU, Mar 18: Progressive Cricket Club registered a dominant 73-run victory over Elite XI Club in the ongoing Anti-Drug Veteran Cricket League at MA Stadium. The match was inaugurated by SP North Vivek Shekhar and Team Jammu Chairman Zorawar Singh, who conducted the toss.
Batting first, Progressive Club set a challenging target of 158 for 8. Rajesh Kathri played a stellar innings, scoring 59 runs, while Abhishek and Sanjay Sharma contributed 33 and 31 runs, respectively. Sachin Singh and Varinder of Elite XI took two wickets each.
In response, Elite XI were bowled out for just 85 runs in 17.4 overs. Varinder was the top scorer for his team with 14 runs. Rajesh Kathri was the standout performer, claiming 3 wickets, supported by Sanjiv, Sanjay and Vishav, who each took two wickets. Kathri was named the Man of the Match for his all-round performance. In another match, Jandiyal Group XI defeated Evershine Cricket Club by five wickets. Shashi Kumar starred with the bat, scoring 42 runs and was awarded Man of the Match. The matches were officiated by Ashok and Vijay.
