JAMMU, Jan 17: Property worth lakhs was destroyed after a house caught fire at Upper Chinore, under Domana Police Jurisdiction on Monday.
A police spokesman said that devastating fire in the house of Krishan Lal Sharma, retired teacher, took place at Upper Chinore early hours on Monday. He said only one member of the family, namely Ravi Kumar was at home while his father and brother were out of station.
The people reported the matter at around 6 am and police party from PP Chinore rushed to the spot. Fire tender from Roopnagar station also arrived there after some time but entire house had been caught in devastating fire. Entire property was reduced to ashes with fire. He said the negligence on the part of family member or some short circuit could be the reason behind the incident. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
