RAJOURI, Mar 30: The people from Samote and adjoining hamlets today held strong protest against PDD authorities for their failure to replace damaged transformer.
The villagers came out on Kotranka-Budhal road at Samote at around 10.30 am and then started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans against the concerned Executive Engineer and AEE. The movement of vehicles was stalled on the road.
The villagers alleged that local electric transformer went out of order about nine days back the matter was reported to field staff but they did not bother to get it replaced or repaired. After one and half hours, SDM and SHO Kotranka reached there and they pacified the people. They also spoke to the PDD officials. The people then lifted dharna and allowed movement of the vehicles.
Another protest was held at Kotranka by the students of local Govt Higher Secondary School. The students were demanding posting of Physics and Urdu lecturers and Physical Education Instructor in the School.
