The angry protesters said they blocked the railway to send a strong message to concerned officers who have neglected this village. “We went from pillar to post but to no vain. We have been forced to take this extreme step,” the villagers said.
Later, police official went to the spot and assured them to intimate their grievances tot eh authorities concerned and the protestors suspended their protest.
The blockade halted the train movement for three hours and the reports said the passengers accused the district administration Pulwama for wasting their day by not visiting the spot immediately.
Meanwhile, protests were also reported in Ajas town in Bandipora district against the Power Development Department (PDD) for their failure to provide electricity to them as per schedule.
The protesters poured on the Srinagar-Bandipora road and blocked the traffic for hours. The protesters said they will intensify their protests if their demands are not met.
