JAMMU, Dec 22: At least three dozen protestors of Rehber-e-Khel were detained by the Police when they were protesting outside MA Stadium, here today.
They were protesting against the LG administration for de-freezing of posts, which were freezed for Rehber-e-Khel teachers in the policy approved by the Cabinet of the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir during their engagement.
“The protestors were assembled at MA Stadium and started moving towards Governor House around 1 pm. They were protesting peacefully when police detained them outside the MA Stadium and released them around 4:30 pm from the District Police Line Jammu,” said president of the ReK Teacher Association Dheeraj Salaria.
Salaria said that they would continue their protest till their legitimate demands are not fulfilled by LG Government including reduction of probation period from seven years to five years at par with Rehber-e-Taleem teachers and increasing of monthly salaries.
They said that the LG administration has directed the department to implement the order which is against the policy and Cabinet order under which they were engaged in the department. “The Rehber-e-Khel teachers perform their duties with full zeal and enthusiasm in the department, but the present Government denies justice to us,” they said.
As per the policy, the available vacancies of PET’s will be kept reserved for Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers but the Govt is going to de-freeze it, which is totally unfair with us, said Salaria.
