PSC claims overall trophy in District Budgam Taekwondo C’ship

BUDGAM, July 10: Pahalwan Sports Club lifted the overall trophy in the 17th District Budgam Taekwondo Championship, organized by District Budgam Taekwondo Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association, here.
Abu Sina Educational Institute and RMP Magam were the first and second runners-up respectively.
The 3-days championship was declared closed by Bashir Malik, chairman Sports Development Board who was the chief guest on this occasion.
Major Sunit Raj Choudhary, 2RR Bn, Sector 10, was guest of honour on the occasion,
Nazir Mir from Adventure Sports and Nissar Hussain, vice president, JKTA were special guests on the occasion.
Over 200 boys and girls drawn from different schools and clubs of District Budgam participated in the championship.
Atul Pangotra, Technical Director Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association was also present on the occasion.
The championship was held under the supervision of Ashiq Hussain and Kaisar Mohammad Khan.
Meanwhile, in sub junior 20-22 kg girls, Nargis Mehraj and Shubnam Javaid of AEI Narkara bagged gold and silver respectively, while in sub junior 32-35 kg, Mehroosh Manzoor and Rukiya of the same club claimed gold and silver respectively.
In sub junior 42 kg girls, Shazia Akhtar, Mehnaz Ayoub and Ruheena Ali claimed of AEI Narkara clinched gold, silver and bronze respectively.
Khushboo Maqbool, Iqra Fayaz and Iqra Hamid bagged gold, silver and bronze in sub junior 35-38 kg girls, while in junior 55 kg girls, Bismah Farooq and Insha Sultan of AEI Narkara claimed gold and silver respectively.
