SAMBA, May 20: The five-day long Sports Meet of staff/trainees organized by Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur concluded today.
The Sports Meet was inaugurated on May 15 by SSP Ranjit Kanwar, Principal, PTTI Vijaypur, accompanied by other officers of the institute.
The events and games that were played during the Sports Meet include Volley Ball, Handball, Kabbaddi, Tug of War, Track events (100/200/400 race, 12 km Cross country, 21.5 Km Half Marathon), Field Events (Shot put) and individual events (shooting) in which various staff members and trainees of various courses participated.
In handball, Team A defeats Team B while in Kabbaddi, Team A (staff & Trainees) thrashes Team B (trainees). In finals of Tug of War, Team a (BRIC) emerged winner while Team B (staff) was runners up.
In 100 m Race, Constable Kamal Singh bagged 1st position, PSI Sofi Javed secured 2nd position and PSI Himanshu Dutt got 3rd position. While in 200 m Race, PSI Sofi Javed secured 1st position while PSI Himanshu and Constable Firoz Ahmed bagged 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. In 400 m Race, PSI Sofi Javed secured 1st position, PSI Ali Arslan got 2nd position and Constable Subhash Chander bagged 3rd position.
In Cross country (12 Km), Constable Feroz Ahmed and PSI Khalid Ahmed bagged 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while Constable Kamal Singh secured 3rd position. In Half Marathon (21.5 Km), Constable Feroz Ahmed got 1st position, Constable Ghulam Rasool secured 2nd position and Constable Muzaffer Ahmed bagged 3rd position.
In Shot Put event, Inspector Charanjeet Singh bagged 1st position, PSI Ashish Dharmat got 2nd position and PSI Himanshu Dutt got 3rd position. In Shooting 100 Yards (Lying position), PSI Usman Ahmed and PSI Tsering Namgyal bagged 1st and 2nd positions, respectively while SPO Surinder Kumar got 3rd position.
In Shooting Carbine (Standing Position), Inspector Sushil Kumar secured 1st position, Constable Nasir Ahmed got 2nd position and ASI Karan Singh bagged 3rd position while in Shooting with Pistol, Inspector Amit Kumar, HC Girdhari Lal and SP Vijay Kumar bagged 1st and 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.
