* Adhijai wins hearts as Vishal Club outplays Col Chopra CC

JAMMU/KATHUA/ SAMBA, Jun 2: Talented and stylish batsman, Shubham Pundir scored magnificent century and Rohan Koul contributed power-packed half-century as Sehwag Cricket Academy defeated Singh Cricket Club by a huge margin at Jammu, while Samba XI and XI Star scripted wins at Samba and Kathua respectively and Vishal Cricket Club (U-16) drubbed Col RN Chopra Cricket Academy as young Adhijai won hearts in the ongoing District Level JKCA Premier Cricket Championships being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at various venues here.
At GGM Science College Jammu, Sehwag Academy thrashed Singh Cricket Club by a huge margin of 168 runs.
Batting first, Sehwag Academy scored a big total of 284 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Skipper Shubham Singh Pundir stole the show with unbeaten 129 runs off 81 balls, studded with 17 fours and 3 sixes, while Rohan Koul scored brisk unbeaten 81 off just 35 balls with the help of 6 fours and 6 sixes. Both the batsmen were in awe-inspiring touch and sent the rival bowlers on a leather hunt, hitting the ball with fluidity, grace and brilliance. From Singh Club, Rohit Singh, Sahil and Sanjeev Singh shared one wicket each.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club bundled out for 116 runs in 25.3 overs. Harman Singh top scored with 36 runs. Speedsters Rohit Sharma and Yudhveer Singh took 3 wickets each from Sehwag CA. Shubham Singh Pundir was declared as the man of the match.
In Under-16 boys match at the same venue, Vishal Cricket Club defeated Col RN Chopra Cricket Academy by 82 runs.
Batting first, Vishal Club scored 150 runs in 20 overs. Snoop (60) and Shivansh unbeaten (47) were the main scorers. Abhu took 2 wickets and Aditya claimed one wicket for Col Chopra Academy.
In reply, Col Chopra Academy bundled out for 68 runs in 15.4 overs. Nikhil top scored with 36 runs. Ashim and Agastya took 2 wickets, while Praful claimed 1 wicket for Vishal Cricket Club. Snoop was adjudged as the man of the match. The highlight of the match was the participation and displaying of brilliant wicket-keeping and batting skills by youngest participant Adhijai of Col RN Chopra Academy.
At Sports StadiumKathua, XI Star Cricket Club defeated Balahar Cricket Club by 68 runs.
Batting first, XI Star scored 225 runs in 30 overs. Ashu top scored with 87 runs, while Aditya contributed 38 runs to the total. Manit, Lucky and Rohit took 1 wicket each for Balahar Cricket Club.
In reply, Balahar Club managed to score 157 runs. Dalip and Lucky contributed 32 and 18 runs respectively. Aditya was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while Abhey and Rishav took 2 wickets each.
Meanwhile, at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ground, Smailpur in Samba, Samba XI crushed Border Cricket Club by 52 runs.
Samba XI scored 177 runs in 19 overs. Digvijay and Mukesh contributed 36 and 32 runs respectively. Sahil took 3 wickets for Border Club, while Deepak, Harsh and Rishav claimed 2 wickets each.
