BHADERWAH, Dec 15: Puneja village team crushed Village Sungli team in the summit clash by 30 runs and lifted the title trophy of the T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) at Sitengal.
On the occasion, senior Army Officers from Rashtriya Rifle at Bhaderwah awarded trophies and cash prizes to winner and runner-up teams in presence of Sarpanchs, locals and sports lovers.
Besides, individual cash prizes were also given to Man of the Series, Man of the Match, Best Batsman and Best Bowler.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Officer Commanding, Rashtriya Rifles Company at Sitengal, who while speaking said that such initiatives have proved beneficial in channelizing the youth energy in the right direction and providing them with a platform to excel.
The tournament was organised by Army for the upliftment of local youths of the area by providing an opportunity to showcase their talent and to promote youth development.
The championship was played on league cum knock out basis and a total of 22 teams from Sitengal, Barahi, Halia, Sungli, Thanala, Swangpura, Puneja, Chakka, Bheja, Nalthi and nearby villages participated.
