Punjab jump to top position in Police Athletics

CHANDIGARH, Nov 29: Punjab Police, overnight lying at the third place, climbed to the top by garnering 158 points on the penultimate day of the five-day 62nd All-India Police Athletic Championship being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Sports Board in Lucknow today.
Central Reserve Police Force who were leading till the third day, have been pushed to second spot. With 144 points. Border Security Force were at the third spot by obtaining 131 points.
Kiranbir Kaur of Punjab Police erased the old meet record of 3.30 metres set by Sangeeta Kumari of Central Industrial Security Force set this year. Kiranbir Kaur today cleared the bar placed t 3.50 metres. Silver medalist Babli Mitra of West Bengal also improved upon the old record as she vaulted to a height of 3.40 metres. Barnali Rai (CRPF) and Babli (CISF) were declared joint third as they cleared identical  3.20 metres.
