KATRA, Nov 2: 1st WhatsApp Kesari Vishal Dangal was organized by J&K WhatsApp Group in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at village Ban Malapur in Jammu under the overall supervision Wrestler Benia Min, Sarpanch Babaishan Singh, Bittu Raina and Ram Paul Sharma, today.
41 bouts were played in the one day long wrestling event wherein top renowned wrestlers from Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and J&K participated. An amount of Rs 5, 00,000 has been incurred for conduct of this one day long Wrestling event.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Jammu who is also president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runners-up wrestlers, while Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) presided over the function.
DySP Mukesh of Chandigarh, Sub-Inspector Rakesh and Sarpanch Bhatindi choudhary Noor Alam were the guests of honour. Rehmat Ali, Faquir Chand, Kuldeep, Ravi (All Sarpanch) were also present on the occasion.
The first main bout was fought between Wrestler Jassa of Taran Tarn Patti in Punjab and Wrestler Kamaljeet of Doom Charri (Ropar) in Punjab. This bout ended in a draw which lasted for 20 minutes and both the Wrestlers were jointly awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 (Ona Lakh) by Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Mr Sharma and other dignitaries.
