PANAJI, Nov 30: Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said almost all those who are employed in the private industrial sector are vying for government jobs and there is need for serious introspection.
“I want support from your end. Everybody needs to do introspection in that regard. We all need to work for the welfare of the state,” Parsekar said, while addressing the 15th Annual General Meeting of Verna Industries Association, a body representing industries at state’s biggest Industrial Estate located at Verna village.
“Practically, whoever is employed in private industry, registers himself in the state government’s employment exchange and he too claims that he is unemployed,” the Chief Minister said.
“He (youth) feels himself employed only when he gets government job and he does nothing thereafter,” Parsekar said.
“All those who are working with you (private industries) claim that they are unemployed. Why is it? How long this will continue? Is it that it is the responsibility of the government to engage all these people in the government job? You need to introspect and need to help government in this regard,” he said.
Addressing industrialists at the venue, Parsekar admitted that several issues raised by investors with the government continue to remain unaddressed due to red-tapism.
“If you want to delay any file, mark it to law department. It would be pending there, delaying the implementation of the decision,” Parsekar added.
He also said that there are certain things that government need to do, but they have been pending. (PTI)
