JAMMU, Apr 16: The J&K Private Schools Association has urged Lt Governor G C Murmu to pass direction to all national banks to grant loan at zero percent interest to promoters of these low budget educational institutions so that they can pay salaries to their teaching and non- teaching staff in this critical juncture without any delay.
In a press release issued by the General Secretary of JKPSA, Ajay Gupta, the Association explained that the lockdown because of COVID-19 outbreak has triggered financial crunch for the owners, teaching and non teaching staff of small low budget schools as since March 5, 2020, most of the parents have not deposited tuition fee of their wards for the month of March owing to the circulation of Government advisory in this regard.
In view of the situation emerged due to lockdown, a representation was today presented by these low budget school owners to the Lieutenant Governor J&K, through Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta.
In the representation, President of the Association Kamal Gupta has appealed to the Government to pass direction to all national banks to grant loan at zero percent interest to those promoters who are running small schools with low budget so that they can pay salaries to their teaching and non- teaching staff in this critical juncture without any delay.
The Association also suggested delivering book to the students at their door step without opening the stationery shops and demanded direction for the J&K BOSE Affiliation Committee to grant extension in affiliation to those schools which have deposited their file for the extension in affiliation after completing all stipulated formalities and whose affiliation has lapsed on March 31, 2020.
The Association also demanded a review of yesterday’s notification issued by the School Education Department on school bag weight, books and homework assignment as in this age of competition such type of order may have adverse effect for bringing the students up to expectations.
