PWA discusses demands

KATHUA, Apr 2: Pensioners Welfare Association in its meeting held under the chairmanship of Dilsher Singh, district general secretary of the association, discussed burning issues of employees and pensioners here today.
In the meeting, Amar Nath Dogra, association president,  stressed upon the Government for immediate release of two DA instalments of 6%, one due from July 2015 and second from Jan 2016 to State employees and pensioners in cash to provide them much needed relief from the rising prices of all the essential goods of daily consumption.
He also sought the enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month in favour of employees and pensioners.
Further, he demanded enhancement of old age/widows/disability pension on the analogy of other States.
In the meeting, Diwan Chand, advisor of the association demanded immediate regularisation of daily wagers/adhoc/contractual basis employees and also stressed to release the salary grants of employees who have not been paid their salaries till date in different Government Departments.
Those who attended the meeting included Tara Singh, Amrik Singh, Khushi Ram, Sohan Lal, Des Raj Verma, Shambu Nath Verma, Harbans Lal, Sat Pal, Vijay Kumar, Devinder, Subash, Saran Singh and others.
