JAMMU, May 13: After the decision of Administrative Council, the General Administration Department of J&K Government has sanctioned accord for the nomination of Public Work (R&B) Department to implement ropeway projects in the UT of J&K under “Parvatmalla Scheme” of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
As per the Government order the PW(R&B) Department shall enter into the MoU with National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), an SPV (company) of NHAI, for development of ropeway projects in J&K by way of partnership between UT Government and NHLML through independent execution by NHLML (support from UT Government formalized through a State Support Agreement). However, option of partnership between the UT Government and NHLML through SPV formation (at least 26 per cent equity contribution by the UT Government) shall remain open and will be exercised whenever it is favourable to the Government of J&K.
The order further stated that the PW(R&B) Department shall share Detailed Project Reports available with Tourism Department with NHLML to facilitate early sanction of projects from MoRTH.
