PWS Butwani presents awards to meritorious students

SRINAGAR, Feb 14: The meritorious students of classes 10th and 12th from various High and Higher Secondary Schools were given away prizes and scholarships at a function organized by People’s Welfare Society Butwani Ganderbal at village Butwani today.
The function was presided over by Tehsildar Wakura while the Principal Higher Secondary School Butwani, Principal DIET Ganderbal and heads of various other education institutions and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
The prizes carried cash awards, citation and merit certificates. The function was among others addressed by Mir Ghulam Rasool, Ghulam Mohammed Hamdard, retd ZEO, Ghulam Hassan Dar, Mohammed Maqbool Bhat and Mir Arshad.
Speaking on the occasion Mir Ghulam Rasool said that education is the only treasure which removes all barriers among human beings and makes them the useful citizens of tomorrow.
He while highlighting the role of Kirmanya Educational Society said that it was founded years back to boost the education in this backward area and it is the result of the society that at present the students of this area are competing in all competitive examinations and seeking 80 to 90 percent marks.
He appealed the Government to provide all infrastructural facilities to Government schools in the area by posting staff and construction of school buildings and additional class rooms.
