KATHUA, July 22: Pradesh Youth Congress organised protest demonstration against BJP-PDP Government in the State for its failure to keep the pre-poll promises and for its anti-Jammu policies at Kathua town here today.
Led by Dr Umashankar Pandey, National secretary and incharge, Youth Congress Jammu and Kashmir and Pranav Shagotra, State president the Kathua unit of the PYC organized this protest programme against the Modi-Mufti Government for its anti-Jammu policies and failure to honour commitments made with the people during polls.
Hundreds of protestants raised slogans against the BJP-PDP Government and expressed their anger against the failure of Government to address the issues of public concern including AIIMS for Jammu, reducing the time period of BEd Course duration for Jammu province students and about the Government’s inability to announce special package for Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion Umashankar Pandey said that BJP-PDP Govt has lost the moral ground to remain in power, as both the parties have failed to keep the pre poll promises made with people of the State and added that State is playing with careers of lakhs of educated youth by introducing an anti youth recruitment policy, by adopting double standards in the matter of course duration of B Ed in Jammu and Kashmir regions. He further said that the Government has failed to get any special package for the flood victims and other affected people of the State.
Mr Shagotra demanded immediate announcement of AIIMS for Jammu region and declared that if Govt fails to make an announcement in the next few days, Youth Congress activists of Jammu region will come on the streets to intensify their fight for the cause of Jammu. Either Government should do justice with people of Jammu region or the BJP-PDP should remain ready to face the wrath of the people of Jammu, he added.
Satish Sharma, Paramjeet Singh, Rajveer Singh, Pankaj Basotra- all general secretaries and Vinay Sharma president LYC, Doda- Kathua also led the protest demonstration and addressed the gathering.
