JAMMU, Dec 13: Quarterf-inals position has been cleared in the ongoing 65th All India Police Hockey Championship, being held at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
While Jammu and Kashmir Police teams and Punjab Police teams have already qualified for the quarterfinals, the teams which entered the last eight stage today included ITBP, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, CRPF, BSF and Karnataka.
Now, in the quarterfinals, ITBP will take on Odisha at 8 am, Punjab will lock horns with Tamil Nadu at 10 am, CRPF will face Jammu and Kashmir at 12 noon and BSF will meet Karnataka at 2 pm.
Earlier, in the match played between Haryana and CRPF, the latter defeated the former by three goals to one (3-1) in an easy contest. At half time it was (3-0) in favour of CRPF. The goal scorers for CRPF were Javed Khan, who netted it in 3rd minute; Bikash Kumar, who scored it in 19th minute and Jayant Tirkey, who scored the goal in 25th minute. Jatinder Kumar was the goal scorer for Haryana, who scored it in 40th minute.
RK Aggarwal, SSP Security was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, while GS Bakshi, General Secretary Hockey J&K was the guest of honour.
The matches are being officiated by Rajinder Kharab, Feroz Mohd Khan, VP Sharma, Vijay Kishore, Amar Singh Negi, Deepak Kumar, Sham Lal, Gurmeet Singh, Jai Bhagwan, Joginder Singh, Dilbar Sandhu, Anand Dangi, Raj Kumar Jha, Malkiat Singh, Vinay Panchal, Tarun Yadav, Bhanu Aggarwal, MS Reen, and Jagjeet Singh.
