Rafting campaign inaugurated at Gulabgarh

KISHTWAR, Dec 15: Indian Army along with JK Adventures has launched a two days River Rafting campaign in coordination with District administration to boost tourism in the region at Gulabgarh, here today.
The campaign is aimed towards encouraging and engaging youths of Gulabgarh region in outdoor adventure activities, eventually restricting their involvement in anti-social activities. “The campaign will also help induce adventure sports activities in Gulabgarh region, thus facilitating the influx of tourists in the region,” said an organiser, adding that the activity will also motivate other private adventure companies to operate in the area to induce adventure activities like paragliding and water sports.
The campaign was flagged off with full enthusiasm and adventurous spirit with the initiative of 17 Rashtriya Rifles (Maratha Light Infantry). The activity will also create employment opportunities for youth of the region and will also support the local tourism industry in the town of Gulabgarh.
The efforts of the Indian Army to promote tourism in the region were appreciated by District administration and locals.
