JAMMU, Dec 22: Ragini bagged the junior (Under-17) girls title by defeating Mishti in a hard-fought match that lasted till the last game, whereas Pratham Raina showed his complete dominance over his counterpart Ritvik Gupta by 3-0 to lift the Under-17 boys title.
In the under-19 boys final, it was kind of a rematch between Pratham Raina and Ritvik Gupta in which Pratham again won by three games to nil. Meanwhile, Ritvik Gupta finished his campaign in this year’s championship with one gold and two silver medals. The men’s singles first round matches were underway till the last reports came in.
In junior girls (Under-17) finals, Ragini beat Mishti by 3-2, while in junior boys finals, Pratham defeated Ritvik by 3-0, in junior boys (U-19) semi finals, Ritvik trounced Maanay by 3-1, while Pratham beat Akhilesh by 3-0.
In junior boys (U-19) finals, Pratham got the better of Ritvik by 3-0, in women semifinals, Iknoor trounced Mishti by 3-1, Ragini beat Nitya by 3-1, whereas in men singles first round, Ritvik beat Kaiser Ahmed by 3-0, Usman defeated Salil by 3-1, Sourav trounced Tahir by 3-0, Mannat beat Sahil by 3-1, Akhilesh defeated Qazim by 3-0, Maanay beat Anant by 3-0, Nishant trounced Shahbaz by 3-2, Anuj beat Shoaib by 3-0 and Manan defeated Rajveer by 3-0.
The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh, Asad Sharma and Vasu Dewan.
