Rahul is pulse of young India: Omar

JAMMU: Asserting Rahul Gandhi is the pulse of young India, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said the Congress vice-president takes along with him people of all age groups in his mission to lead the country towards a modern, prosperous and scientific era.

On the other hand, the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi have an agenda to divide society on various counts, the Chief Minister alleged, addressing public meetings in Jammu region’s Rajouri district.

“Rahul Gandhi is the pulse of young India and takes along with him people of all age groups in his mission to lead India towards a modern, prosperous and scientific era,” Omar said.

On the contrary, “Modi and his party have the agenda to divide society on various counts to grab power,” he told public rallies in support of NC-Congress candidates at Darhal, Budhal and Kotranka.

The PDP is a partner in this design of the saffron party in J&K, he alleged.

“Rahul represents aspirations of modern India and is sincere in his efforts to ensure inclusive and holistic development of all sections of society equitably,” Omar said.

The BJP PM nominee is beholder of a known ideology and has not been “exonerated” by people of the charges of communal riots in Gujarat, he said.

Lashing out at the PDP, Omar said the party is contesting Parlimentary elections despite knowing its imminent defeat at the hustings merely to divide votes to benefit the BJP, in particular in Poonch-Rajouri districts. (AGENCIES)
