Rahul Mani’s ton guides Singh CC to huge win

AKHNOOR, Dec 23: A swashbuckling century by Rahul Mani helped hosts Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor to defeat Ward No 8 Cricket Club, Akhnoor to enter into the next round of the Christmas Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Winning the toss and batting first, Singh Club scored a mammoth total of 190 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Rahul Mani scored marvelous 120 runs in just 45 balls with the help of 10 fours and 8 sixes. Dilawar Singh contributed 28 and Sham Singh Langeh 10 runs to the total. For Ward No 8, Anil Gupta and Sunil Kumar took 2 wickets each, while Sandeep claimed one.
Ward No 8 CC, in reply, collapsed at 77 runs in 18.4 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 113 runs. Pintu and Nitin contributed 17 and 12 runs to the total respectively. Sham Singh Langeh was the pick of the bowlers for SCC, scalping 4 important wickets, while Dilawar Singh and Chandan bagged 2 wickets each. Rahul Mani also claimed one wicket. Rahul Mani was declared man of the match for scoring fabulous century.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Sharma and Sagar Verma as umpires, while Abitash maintained the scorebook.
Earlier, SHO Akhnoor, Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the match in a simple fuction.
