JAMMU, June 2: A day after Rahul Jarngal and Sandeep Singh from Jammu region of the State of Jammu and Kashmir summitted the Mount Everest, another Jammu boy Nirmal Kumar, hailing from a Village Khellani in Doda district of Jammu province conquered the peak on May 28, 2017 at 8:12 am.
Son of Rattan Lal and Soma Devi, young Nirmal was part of the 12-member ONGC team, which had been flagged off for the mission way back on March 28, 2017.
The expedition was organized by ONGC in collaboration with Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF).
The other members included Capt SK Sangwan (Team Leader), Dr Nitin Chawla, Dr Ritu Sharma, Loveraj Singh (Team Mentor) Minti Rajkhowa, N Jagoi, Prabhat Gaurav, Santosh Singh, Surinder Tomar, Yogender Garbiyal, Rahul Jarngal and Nirmal Kumar.
While talking to EXCELSIOR and sharing his experience, Mr Nirmal was all praise for ONGC and Indian Mountaineering Federation for providing him opportunity to scale the Everest.
He described the moment as the happiest moment of his life.
Mr Nirmal Kumar is working as Executive Engineer (Mech), MH Asset, Mumbai in ONGC.
