Rainbow Public School wins Handball U-17 boys title

JAMMU, May 30: Outplaying St Peters School by sixteen goals to ten (16-10) in the summit clash, Rainbow Public School won the title trophy of the Handball Under-17 boys tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, here.
Rahat and Rahul were the star performers for the winners, scoring 5 and 4 goals respectively.
Earlier, Rainbow School defeated BSF Paloura by eleven goals to seven (11-7).
In Handball Under-14 boys final, Heritage School beat APS Miran Sahib by 8-3 goals, with Nishant Khajuria of Heritage scoring 5 goals and Achintya 2 goals.
In earlier match, APS Miran Sahib beat St Peters by 6-5 goals, with Rohit Verma of APS scoring 4 goals and Rohit Kumar 2 goals.
In Basketball Under-14 boys final, J P World beat KC Public School by 24-20 points, while in semifinal JP World School trounced Heritage School by 18-13 points and K C Public School got better of APS, Sunjwan by 20-16 points.
In Under-17 boys basketball finals, MHAC, Nagbani defeated St Francis Akhnoor by 18, 3 points.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activities of the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the chairmanship of Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director, Jammu and under the supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
The Basketball matches were officiated by Rajesh Bandral, Amit Kalsi, Vishal Bharti, Vaneet Pangota, Mousami Verma, while Handball matches were officiated by Ajay Sharma, Chander Shekher Datta, Gourav Sharma, Satika Sharma, Jyoti Sharma and Anita Thakur.
