Rajendra finalises arrangements for 65th All India Police Hockey C’hip

JAMMU, Dec 6: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar finalised arrangements for 65th All India Police Hockey Championship-2016 at a senior officers meeting held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. The championship is being held in Jammu from December 10 which is hosted by JKP.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Rajendra said that the National Level Championship will be played at K. K. Hakkhu Astroturf Stadium in which 26 teams from different organisations are participating. The championship being played under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board will last for 7 days, he added.
Rajendra sought reports from the committees constituted with different assignments and stressed that dedicated efforts are required to be put in place in order to conduct the national level event in a befitting manner. Preparedness of grounds at the venue was discussed and it was informed that the work is at final stage and would be ready for the inaugural match by the right time. He asked the nodal officers to work together and ensure all the required arrangements for the championship in an efficient manner.
DGP, discussing transport, traffic and accommodation arrangements for the guest teams and said that efficient boarding and lodging arrangements for the players and the management would be made available. Transport facilities from airport, railway station to the place of stay with good hospitality are given to the visiting teams. Deployment of man power and security, besides high standards of discipline would be ensured during the championship, DGP said.
Among others, the meeting was also attended by Additional Directors General of Police, VK Singh, Dilbagh Singh and L Mohanti, IGPs, M S Salaria, Yoginder Koul, Muneer Ahmad Khan and Danesh Rana, DIGPs, Alok Kumar and Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, Secretary General, J&K Hockey Federation, G. S. Bakshi, AIGPs PHQ, Dr. Haseeb Mughal and Kulbir Singh, SSPs, Sunil Gupta, Mubassir Latifi, Ramesh Kumar Angral and Rohit Sharma, Commandants of Armed, IRP battalions and other police officers.
