Rajendra for innovative changes in improving deliverance

SRINAGAR, May 19: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has asked the jawans and officers of JKP to bring innovative changes amongst themselves and improve their attitude while delivering in the field.
Mr. Rajendra said that tourists and pilgrims are the ambassadors of different places and we have to make them feel safe and secure during their stay in the State, which would send a good message in other parts of the country and world.
In a communiqué from Police Headquarters (PHQ), Mr. Rajendra has said that we have to adopt a positive attitude with the public by responding quickly to their complaints and our behaviour would bring the people close and help in yielding tangible results.
He said that presence of police at different levels should be a source of re-assurance to the public and it should be our priority to present a soft humane face to the people while performing in the field. He said that the role of police, beyond providing security, is of crucial importance to extend a helping hand to the needy people on different fronts.
“Men in khaki have to adopt protective behaviour while dealing the situations rather aggressive or a cause of fear”, DGP said.
DGP disclosed that Jammu and Kashmir Police has a rich tradition of tolerance, patience and public service, and the force played a significant role in bringing peace in the State, strengthening institutions. JKP, besides professional policing has worked on forefront on various fronts providing succour to the needy people in the times of calamities, mitigating their hardships. The force has offered supreme sacrifices while protecting the life and property of the public.
The people have great expectations and the service of society should be our priority, said the DGP. Saying that our men and officers have proved themselves people friendly, he has reiterated that our prime duty is to exhibit discipline and impartiality while delivering to the people.
Mr. Rajendra has asked the supervising officers to monitor the working at different levels and ensure that the expectations of the people get fulfilled properly. He said that improvement in our day-to-day working would also change public perception about the force.
