Rajendra visits Hazratbal, reviews arrangements for Meraj-ul-Alam

SRINAGAR, May 17: Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar today visited Hazratbal and took stock of the arrangements made by the Police authorities in connection with the celebrations of Meraj-ul-Alam.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made by the police and other agencies for the smooth conduct of the celebrations, the DGP called upon the concerned to ensure proper security, traffic and other management in and around the shrine so that the devotees may not face any kind of hardship. He issued specific instructions to the concerned to adhere to the traffic management and parking of vehicles at the already identified parking lots to avoid any hardships to the devotees.
Mr. Rajendra called upon the officers to maintain close coordination with the civil authorities and other agencies to ensure smooth conduct of event. He also interacted with the devotees and enquired about the facilities. He also discussed the arrangements for the ensuing Friday following of  Shab-i-Meraj with the officers and directed for putting in place necessary measures.
Earlier, the DGP also paid obeisance at the revered Hazratbal Shrine and prayed for the peace and tranquility of the people.
IGP, Kashmir, SJM Geelani, DIG, CKR, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, SSP, Srinagar, Amit Kumar, SSP Traffic, Hasib-ur-Rehman, SSP Hazratbal and other officers accompanied the DGP.
