JAMMU, Aug 12: J&K Football Association organized football tournament, which was inaugurated by MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta.
MLC Kuldeep Singh, District President JKFAS Surinder Singh, Vice President David Masih and members of the Association namely Varinder Gupta, Ramesh Chander, Yusuf Don, Rajesh Sundria, Rakesh Khanna, Narinder Gupta, Moon Stephen and Bharat Bushan were also present on the occasion. The noted former senior footballer Harbans Lal and Organising Secretary Mohan Lal also graced the occasion.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that Jammu and Kashmir has produced many good football players over the years. “Government has laid stress on the development of sports and we must encourage our youth to take sports as a carrier”, he added.
Gupta said that they will develop the necessary infrastructure needed for the development of sports culture in the State. “We would provide the necessary incentives to the budding sportspersons and there are seats reserved for meritorious sportsmen in professional institutions”, he stated.
