Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College celebrates National Education Day

JAMMU, Nov 11: Rajiv Gandhi Memorial College of Education (RGMCE), Kathua celebrated National Education Day to mark the birth anniversary of the first Education Minister of the country.
Chairperson Anu Dogra highlighted the values and ideals for which Maulana Azad stood during his lifetime, while Principal of the Collee Dr GP Sachdev made power point presentation about his vision and achievements.
On the occasion an Inter-College Symposium on the topic “Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities” was organised in which 34 students from different colleges of the State participated.
Dr Ram Murti Sharma graced the occasion as chief guest and highlighted the role played by Maulana Azad in the freedom struggle.
Prof Saroop Chander, Dr PN Koul and Mili Sumbria were the judges.
Aatika Sharma from GDC Kathua bagged first prize, while as Vishal Pathania from GDC Kathua claimed second prize. Rimpu Verma from Rajiv Gandhi College of Education and Balqees Akhter from New Age Degree College, Billawar shared third position.
In the end, Deepika presented the vote of thanks.
Among those present were Pankaj Dogra, Chairman Surya College of Education, Jyoti Sharma, Manju Pathania, Akhil Gupta, Aditi, Nidhi, Poonam and Kuldeep.
