JAMMU, Oct 15: Rajni Devi Jammu bagged gold medal in Under-14 girls high jump, while Parveen Bano of Udhampur bagged gold in Under-17 girls high jump in the Divisional Level Inter-District Athletic Meet, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Jammu University Grounds, here.
Kouser Bibi of Kathua and Begum of Samba claimed silver and bronze medal in Under-14 girls respectively, while in high jump Under-17 girls, the silver and bronze medal went to Surekha Devi of Kathua and Sameksha of Jammu respectively.
Jammu District won overall championship , Kathua District got runners-up trophy.
Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony.
The competitions are being held under the patronage of Naveen Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K.
Earlier, in 200 Mtrs Under-14 girls, Gurdeep Kour of Jammu, Reena Sharma of Kathua and Nishu Devi of Ramban bagged gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 200 Mtrs Under-17 girls, the gold, silver and bronze medals went to Sakshi Koul of Jammu, Mamta Devi of Kathua and Pooja Devi of Ramban respectively and in 200 Mtrs Under-19 girls, Aditi Uppal of Jammu bagged gold, Jeevan Jyoti of Kathua clinched silver and Kiran Devi of Reasi claimed bronze.
In 400 Mtrs Under-14 girls, Kulvinder Kour of Jammu, Nishu Devi of Ramban and Salma Bano of Kathua won gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 400 Mtrs Under-17 girls, Kajal Kumari of Jammu bagged gold, Asma Kouser of Poonch clinched silver and Nisha Devi of Kathua claimed bronze. The gold, silver and bronze medals in
400 Mtrs Under-19 girls went to Pinky Devi of Kathua, Preeti Sharma of Reasi and Nazia Choudhary of Samba respectively.
1500 Mtrs Under-17 girls, Jamila Akhter of Jammu won gold, Radha Devi of Kathua got silver and Rekha Devi of Udhampur clinched bronze, while in 1500 Mtrs Under-19 girls, Suman Devi of Samba claimed gold, Madhu Devi of Udhampur won silver and Neha Rani of Kathua clinched bronze.
