Rajpura police rescues 4 bovine animals

SAMBA, Nov 18: Police Party of PS Rajpura during late last night foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued four bovines during a naka at Rajpura near here.
According to reports a police party of PS Rajpura headed by SI Surinder Nagra,  I/C PP Rajpura under close supervision of Tanveer Ahmed, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during vehicle checking at naka Rajpura signaled a Mahindra Vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK02BM-2292 to stop. On seeing the police party, the driver tried to flee from the spot but after chase the driver abandoned the vehicle near Madoon and escaped from the spot.
During the checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally.  The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized and a case FIR No. 100/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 179/MV Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal. Further investigations is going on to nab the driver.
It may be recalled that Samba Police led by SSP Samba, Anil Magotra has launched a drive against bovine smuggling in the district.
