Rajput guides Singh Club Akhnoor to semis of Pawan T20

AKHNOOR, June 5: Sumit Rajput slammed power-packed 88 runs to help Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor enter the semifinals of the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by SCC Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here today.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Singh Cricket Club scored a fighting total of 147 runs in the stipulated 19.5 overs. Sumit Rajput played a magnificent innings of 88 runs off just 55 balls including 5 fours and 8 sixes. He sent the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt and tore them to all-around the park. Jasvinder Singh and Surinder Singh also contributed 16 and 12 runs to the total respectively. For Adarsh Cricket Club Akhnoor, Ashok Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 wickets, while Roshi and Uday claimed 2 and one wicket respectively.
Adarsh Club, in reply bundled out for a paltry total of 112 runs in 15.4 overs, thus lost the match by 35 runs. Raja was the top scorer with 45 runs off 30 balls, while Sahir and Ashok scored 14 and 13 runs respectively. For SCC Akhnoor, Vikram Singh and Sham Singh Langeh captured 3 wickets each, while Rohit Sharma claimed 2 wickets. The match was officiated by Rohit Sharma and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Rajinder Sharma maintained the scorebook. The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, chairman Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor.
