JAMMU, Sept 22: Two powerlifters of J&K namely Rakesh Kumar and Vijay Devi excelled in National Powerlifting Deadlift Championship (Men & Women), organised by Indian Powerlifting Federation at Indira Nagar Adyar Chennai in Tamil Naidu.
In the championship, 13 players from the UT participated wherein Rakesh Kumar won Gold and Bronze in Master-1 (120 kg) and Senior categories for Jammu and Kashmir, while Vijay Devi clinched Bronze in 69 kg.
General secretary of Powerlifting Association of J&K, Rakesh Kumar congratulated both the powerlifters and also gave best wishes to the players for upcoming championships. They were also honoured by Bal Sant Sahil Ji Maharaj on arrival at Jammu from the national championship.
