JAMMU, Aug 31: Superb bowling display by the spinning duo of off-spinner Praful Dhar and leg-spinner Shantanu Gupta went in vain as speedster Ramdayal Punia was lethal and produced a great spell to guide KCSC-B to 22-run win over Vishal Cricket Club in the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Cup at the Club’s ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, KCSC-B scored a modest total of 106 runs in 32 overs in a 40-Over match. Sahil Bhalwal top scored with 30 runs, while Vikas and Shivansh contributed 14 and 11 runs to the total respectively. The spinning duo of Praful Dhar and Shantanu Gupta spun web around the rival batsmen. Praful along with left-arm spinner Veenu demolished the top order, while Shantanu blew up the tail. All three spinners of Vishal Cricket Club hit the good areas and bowled with nagging line and teasing length. Praful and Shantanu took 3 wickets each, while Veenu bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, Vishal Cricket Club bundled out for paltry 84 runs to lose the match by 22 runs. Batting worries of Vishal Cricket Club continued as all the batsmen, except Rajesh Gill (20) failed to impress. Apart from Gill, Amritpal and Jagteshwar contributed 12 and 10 runs to the total respectively. Ramdayal was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets, while left-arm spinner Vijay Dogra and medium pacer Usman shared one wicket each. Ramdayal was at his best as he uprooted the stumps of most of his scalps and displayed the art of swing, seam and length. For his 5-wicket haul, Ramdayal was declared as the man of the match and was awarded with a Gift Voucher sponsored by Ramada Hotel.
