POONCH, July 2: Senior National Conference leader and MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana today charged the PDP-BJP Government with failure to effectively implement Centrally Sponsored Schemes on ground in Poonch.
He said there is no effort on the part of any Government department on awareness about Centrally Sponsored Schemes in Poonch district and also expressed his anger over ignoring Poonch district in mass outreach programme of Government to make people aware about Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Rana said there are several important schemes in departments like Social Welfare, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Labour & Employment, EDI, RDD etc but people are completely unaware of any of the schemes implemented by these departments.
The MLA has favoured an inquiry to ascertain why mandated financial and administrative support and accountability is not being enforced to organize mass outreach programmes to spread awareness on CSS in Poonch district.
“Awareness is a component and a prerequisite for implementation of any schemes but the administration in Poonch has paid no attention to prepare people to effectively avail the intended benefits,” Rana said.
Meanwhile, the MLA has asked district administration to chalk out a detailed programme to spread awareness on all Centrally Sponsored Schemes in district Poonch.  He also urged local media persons to objectively critique implementation of CSS and play their vital role in educating the masses on various initiatives meant for their welfare.
Rana also castigated State and Central Government for not including Poonch district among the districts of State for mass awareness on centrally sponsored schemes.
“On one hand Poonch district was not included in the list and on the other hand, implementation of this scheme is hardly visible on ground and need stern approach from concerned sections “Rana further said.
He further said that   Poonch district needs special attention of Government as on one hand it’s located on a corner of State and also bears burnt of border tension but Government preferred districts of its Cabinet ministers for mass awareness programme.
