JAMMU, Mar 11: Describing basic level schooling as most challenging part of educational outreach, NC Provincial President, Devender Singh Rana today called for adopting innovative modern techniques to groom toddlers and young children before introducing them to formal education.
While inaugurating GD Goenka Playway School at Sidhra, he said the concept of play-way schools is most challenging and perhaps a crucial aspect of pre-schooling activities, a combination of nursery, day-care and kindergarten, one in all.
He said that the parents and teachers could play a pro-active role in shaping destiny of children, saying frequent interactions could also help in achieving the objective. He, however, said while teachers can be facilitators to groom the children, the parents cannot escape from their responsibilities.
As such, greater role is cast upon parents to mould their children, as home is supposed to be the first school. In this context, he also stressed the need for larger interpersonal relationship between students, teachers and parents, especially at the basic schooling level, as an important component of learning process,.
Rana acknowledged the fact that grooming young minds is a crucial challenge and hoped that given the educational techniques, the teaching community can meet these with fortitude.
He also underscored the need for imbibing good moral values and virtues among children from the very beginning so that they grow as disciplined and citizens and contributes towards betterment of society. He said inculcating moral values in curriculum will go a long way in achieving the larger objective of shaping the destiny of our children.
Rana urged the management to ensure all the facilities for children of tender age so that they learn to manage themselves in a better way. He called for initiating such programmes that help children learn through play, develop communication and creative skills among them.
