Rana pitches for improving telecom connectivity in border areas

MENDHAR, July 9: Pitching for improving telecom connectivity in all areas located close to Line of Control (LoC) in border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, MLA Mendhar, Javed A Rana has sought personal intervention of Union Telecom Minister for making border residents a part of ‘Digital India’.
In his letter written to Union Telecom Minister, the MLA brought into Minister’s notice the hardship being faced by the people residing in border areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts owing to absence or worst state of telecom connectivity.
“A number of border belts of Rajouri and Poonch including Jhanger, Kalal, Lam, Keri, Manjakote in Rajouri district and Balakote, Mankote, KG and Saujiyan in Poonch district are bearing this burnt and need immediate assistance from Government ” Rana mentioned in his letter.
“In Keri belt of Rajouri district alone, more than one dozen villages having several thousand of population including Agrati, Dhara Sambla, Ratti Mitti, Basali villages fall in this category and same is the story of villages in all other above mentioned belts ” Rana further mentioned in letter.
“Even though war has not been officially declared between India and Pakistan, the people residing in areas in Pir Panjal range have been facing continuous proxy war situation. This makes it even more important for them to be able to communicate their hardships to concerned quarters. Therefore, it is imperative that these people have access to adequate communication services,” the letter reads.
“Keeping all care of national security and other security related aspects near LoC, the people living in the area should be joined in Digital India campaign by providing them telecom connectivity,” he said in the letter.
