JAMMU, June 4: Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today sought compensation and ex-gratia relief to the families of three youths, who lost their lives in an accident at Village Dangakote in Reasi District last week.
Former minister and President District Unit of NC Jagjeevan Lal and another leader Saraf Singh Nag have also demanded relief to the families who lost their kin in the mishap
Mr Rana, Mr Jagjeevan Lal and Mr Saraf Singh Nag conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and pray for peace to departed souls.
Mr Saraf urged the administration to expedite ex-gratia cases of the families, as they had lost their young sons when the vehicle they were travelling in fell in a deep gorge on May 29. He said the families of Rajinder Singh, 24 son of Shambhu Ram, Kuldeep Singh, 17 son of Raj Singh, both residents of Village Devigarh and Kuldip Singh, 26, driver of the ill fated vehicle, son of Sher Singh, resident of Tote are very poor and needed financial assistance on compassionate basis.
He said Kuldeep Singh was the only son and sole earner of a family having six unmarried sisters. All the families who lost their dear ones belong to BPL category, he added.
