JAMMU, Dec 20: Vikram Randhawa, BJP MLA from Bahu constituency, inaugurated J&K UT Weightlifting Championship at Indoor Sports Complex in Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
Yudhvir Singh, General Secretary of the Association, expressed gratitude to Randhawa for inspiring the youth with his presence. In his address, Randhawa commended Government’s commitment to supporting youth development and strengthening communities through sports. He also emphasized the importance of modern infrastructure, provided under the guidance of the Prime Minister, in nurturing talent, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khelo India Silver Medalist Salbena from Kashmir praised the event’s arrangements and expressed hope for outstanding performances. Harbhajan Singh, President of the Association, urged more focus on weightlifting, an Olympic sport, to achieve better future results.
Dignitaries at the event included Ravi Singh, Ashok Singh, Anis Ahmed Chowdhury, Inderpal Singh, and other officials, along with players and spectators, marking the occasion with enthusiasm and support for youth sports in the region.
