JAMMU, Dec 28: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vikram Randhawa today kick started the construction work of a road in an area which had remained unconnected after independence at the tail end of the Gandhi Nagar constituency.
While starting the construction work for the Pucca road link to village Sandhi Takki in Gandhi Nagar constituency which had remained unconnected with the city of temples, Randhawa said that he is committed to fulfill the dream of the former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee who had dreamt of linking all the villages with all weather roads with cities.
He added that this village being the part of the all important Gandhi Nagar constituency was ignored by the previous legislators and regimes for vested interests. He said that the stretch of 4.5 km road would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore which would benefit the residents of villages Sandhi Takki, Sarari, Ratti and Barhmeni. These villages would be directly linked with Bathindi and Narwal once this road gets completed.
He said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to deliver development at the doorsteps of the people irrespective of caste, colour and creed carrying forward the agenda of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikaas’.
He said that the construction of this road stretch was the long pending demand of the people who were facing a lot of hardships particularly during rainy season.
The locals extended full support to the BJP in the coming future.
Among others present were Noor Ahmed Panch, Nazir Ahmed Fauji, Barkat Ali, Shah Mohammad, Tej Ram, Raman Sharma and Sunil Sharma.
