Range Police Udhampur organizes Seminar on Communal Harmony

UDHAMPUR, Mar 14: As part of community policing initiative under Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Range Police Udhampur today organized a Communal Harmony Meet at Shivalik College of Education, here today.
Students drawn from 20 Schools/Colleges of Udhampur and its peripheral areas participated in the Seminar on “Communal Harmony and National Integration”.
Garib Dass, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range was the chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking highlighted the importance of communal harmony in the peace, progress and integration of a nation and further stated that these are essential ingredients of peaceful living in the society and for the growth and stability of nation.
He lauded the role of general public of Udhampur especially local youth and other social/political/religious leaders in maintenance of law and order/communal harmony in Udhampur and requested all the participants especially students to maintain communal harmony in all walks of their lives.
Usman of Happy Model bagged the first prize, Chetna and Mamta of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School bagged 2nd prize and Shruti of Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur bagged 3rd prize.
Vikram Gulati, chairman Shivalik College of Education, Udhampur; Advocate Sawtantar Kotwal, keynote speaker; Sanjay Sharma from Department of District Youth Services and Sports Udhampur; Khalil Poswal, Additional SP Udhampur; Gourav Mahajan, DySP Hqrs were prominent among others present on the occasion.
