Rangil nominates JKOA office bearers, members

JAMMU, Mar 8: Elected unanimously president of Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association (JKOA) in allegedly controversial elections during its AGM held earlier on February 17, 2016, S Rangil Singh announced the office bearers and other members of this elite Association while addressing to the media persons at Amar Singh Club, here today.
During the press conference, Mr Rangil, who was accompanied by Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal and Deepak Handa, said that Government guidelines are not applicable to JKOA, adding that JKOA is an independent body and is not being funded by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
He said that JKOA is affiliated to Indian Olympic Association and is bound to follow its constitution and norms, adding that the Association is committed to promote sports in nooks and corners of the State.
He said some people with vested interests are trying to create confusion and chaos and that is why the JKOA elections held on February 17, 2016 were opposed by some agencies.
Meanwhile, apart from patrons including Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh, DD Magotra and Anil Gupta, SS Wazir, Capt Murti Gupta, Kiran Wattal, ZA Thakur and Sidharth Sharma have been nominated as vice presidents, while Prof Ashutosh Sharma has been nominated as the general secretary of the Association.
Dushyant Sharma, former president Wrestling Federation of India will be the treasurer of the Association, while Kuldip Singh Jamwal, Ravinder Singh, Deepak Handa, Kuldip Magotra, Vijay Saraf and Manmeet Singh will be the associate vice presidents.
OD Sharma, Ajay Sharma, BS Tirthi and Ravinder Singh have been nominated as associate secretaries, while GR Beigh, Kuldip Gupta and Sunil Kumar Sharma will be the joint secretaries.
The executive members included Prof HS Chib, Prof RC Thakur, Prof MM Sharma, Ajay Vaid, Vikram Handa, Vikas Gupta, Rahul Mahajan, Wasim Raja, Om Parkash, Mohd Iqbal, Yudhvir Singh and Irfan Butta.
VK Mago will be the chairman Legal Committee, while Dr Nirmolak Singh will be chairman Medical Committee.
Hs Gill will be the chairman of Tournament Committee, with Sharat Chander and Vikas Dogra as members, while Kuldeep Handoo will be the chairman Technical Committee, with SS Gill and Ajay Sharma as members.
