JAMMU, Apr 19: Ace all-rounder and former skipper J&K Ranji Trophy team, Parvez Rasool has once again dazzled with both bat and ball to grab his 4th man of the match award and guide Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (SJDC) to a big win over Gazi Group Cricketers in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League at Dhaka in Bangladesh.
Earlier batting first, SJDC scored a good total of 271 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Parvez Rasool and Nurul Hassan top scored with 73 runs each, while Robiul Islam Robi scored 58 runs.Saif Hassan and skipper Imrul Kayes contributed 25 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Parvez, in particular was in fabulous touch who showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up magnificent 73 runs off 64 balls, studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
For Gazi Group Cricketers, Dhruv Shorey captured 3 wickets, while Maraj Mahbub took 2 wickets.
In reply, Gazi Group Cricketers bundled out for 199 runs in 43.5 over, thus lost the match by 74 runs. Dhruv Shorey top scored with 55 runs, while Farhad Hossain contributed 37 runs to the total. For SJDC, Parvez Rasool and Ebadot Hossain bagged 3 wickets each, while Mritunjoy Chowdhary claimed 2 wickets. Rasool, so far, has emerged top wicket-taker of the tournament with 23 wickets.
