JAMMU, Apr 27: Superb all-round display by Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Parvez Rasool helped Gazi Group Cricketers to top the points table after 4th Round of Dhaka Premier League, being organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board at various venues in Bangladesh.
Rasool is among four cricketers from India playing in this prestigious league. The other three include Unmukt Chand, Abhinav Mukund and Puneet Bisht.
Earlier, in the first outing in this league, Parvez shone with the bat against formidable Mohammadan SC, scoring fabulous 53 runs off 51 balls and helped his team to win by 6 wickets. He had over 100-run partnership with centurion Nasir Hussain in this match.
In another match against Victoria SC, Rasool spun web around the rival batsmen, scalping 4/28 in his 10 overs and helped his side to register a big win by 8 wickets. For his superb bowling display, Rasool was adjudged as man of the match.
In the third round match against the Legends of Rupganj, Rasool claimed 3 wickets (including the wicket of Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim) by conceding just 17 runs in his 10 overs and helped his team to restrict the rivals to a modest total of 156 runs in 44 overs. Gazi Group Cricketers scored the required runs in 36 overs and scripted an easy victory.
In the 4th Round match against Prime Doleshwar SC, Parvez again blossomed with the bat, scoring 53 runs off 54 balls, studded with 6 fours and 3 massive sixes. His partnership of 101 runs for the 4th wicket with centurion Mominul Haque helped Gazi Group to amass a mammoth total of 307 runs. Parvez also took one wicket in this match and helped his team to win by 35 runs.
After the four rounds played so far in the League, Parvez has emerged to be the top all-rounder, scoring 106 runs in the two innings’, he got a chance to play with an average of 106 runs and captured 8 important wickets by bowling 38 overs and conceding 117 runs, with an average of 13.6 runs.
