SRINAGAR, July 19: Senior NC leader and former Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather today said that the internal roads in Chrar-e-Sharief Assembly Constituency are in a dilapidated condition and hence not traffic worthy at all.
“The public in the area is suffering badly on this account. The locals living in the area have been left to fend for themselves,” the former minister said.
In a statement issued here today, Rather has urged the Governor’s Administration to take up the reconstruction of these roads on priority basis so that the sufferings of the people are alleviated at the earliest. “The roads in the areas are in battered condition. The students and the patients are at the receiving end. The administration has shut its eyes and ears to the mounting woes of the locals,” he added
The NC leader demanded that construction of Azad Road Ranger with extension upto Sogam; Panzan to Darbagh Dedmaribagh to Dangerpora Ranger; Panzan to Ganjibagh with extension to Bachroo; Tujan to Tilsara and other important link roads of the area be taken up under PMGSY.
While decrying the shortage of water in the areas he said, “Some Water Supply Schemes in the area are non- functional which need early attention of the government.”
Rather expressed concern that the fruit-growers of the area whose crops got damaged due to hailstorm are yet to be compensated. He urged the incumbent administration to recompense the losses to farmers at the earliest.
