Rather, Lone inaugurate Govt Model Degree College at Chrar-i-Sharief

BUDGAM, Oct 20: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Ab Rahim Rather in presence of the Minister for Higher Education, Mohd Akber Lone inaugurated Rs 90 crore. Government Model Degree College at Chrar-i-Sharief.
Addressing a public gathering on this occasion, Mr Rather said a modern Sheikh-ul-Alam Auditorium and Re-search Centre is also being set up adjacent to the college to evaluate and propagate teachings of the revered sufi saint Hazrat sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA) at national and inter-national levels.
He said about 20 kanals of land  costing over  Rs.3.50 crore has already been acquired for this purpose, adding that the research centre will be, in due course of time, developed into a full-fledged Sheikh-ul-Alam university. He announced a grant of Rs 2 crore for construction of  the outer boundary wall of the college premises and canteen building, adding that all the need based subjects will be introduced in the college, beginning with   the science steam from the coming month of March.
Responding to the demands of people,Mr Rather announced to construct a Mini Secretariate Complex  at Chrar-i-Sharief  at a cost of Rs.16 crore. to house all the departments under one roof  adding that  mandatory Blue print and administrative approval for  this purpose has already been granted.
Speaking on the occasion ,the Higher Eduction Minister assured all possible logistic support to set up Sheikh-ul-Alam Auditorium and Research Centre in chrar-i-sharief, adding that propagation of the teachings of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA) and conducting exhaustive  research work  on it was need of the hour. He announced to grant funds out of pool funds to meet the manpower requirements of the college to begin with.
Later, the Finance Minister also inaugurated a modern Guest House cum Inspection Hut constructed by J&K Housing Board near Satellite town Chrar-i-Sharief.
