JAMMU, Oct 2: Right-handed opening batsman Ravi Pandita sent the Cricket Club Exile (CCE) bowlers on a leather hunt as he slammed power-packed century to help Whites Cricket Club (WCC) enter the quarterfinals of the ongoing Ist Tikalal Taploo Inter-State Koshur Cricket Tournament, being organized by Koshur Cricket Club at Nehru Stadium, Ghaziabad.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, WCC rode a swashbuckling knock of 103 runs off just 63 balls, studded with 17 boundaries by Ravi Pandita, scored a decent total of 177 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Rajesh Dutt also contributed 27-ball 27 runs to the total. For CCE, Sanjay Pandita took 2 wickets, while Vinod claimed one.
In reply, CCE though gave a strong fight, yet managed only 155 runs in the allotted overs by losing 7 wickets, thus lost the match by 18 runs. Aseem Bhat top scored with well made 48 runs including 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Jatinder Bhat contributed 32 runs to the total. For WCC, Akshay Koul and Ravi Pandita scalped 2 wickets each. For his sterling all-round performance, Ravi Pandita was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Rawat, Zait and Ashik, while Jatinder Sadhu and Amit Qazi are the organizers of the tournament.
