JAMMU, July 24: Ravi Sharma of Kathua won the Open Chess Tournament organized by Ace Chess Academy by securing first place.
Ajit Singh of Udhampur got second place, Maxim Singh third, Akashdeep Singh fourth and Aditya Bharat grabbed fifth place.
In age group category, Sanjukta Sobani won the best women prize. Best Under -15 went to Harshit Gupta while Shaarav Khajuria won best U-10 prize.
Doctor Harleen Kour, a renowned athlete of her time distributed the cash prizes among the winners. Also present on the occasion were Atul Kumar Gupta, president, All J&K Chess Association (AJKCA), Taranvir Singh Gujral, vice president (AJKCA), Dr AS Bhatia, advisor (AJKCA), Tej Ram Choudhary, owner of Ace academy and Vijay Choudhary, director of academy.
