JAMMU, Sept 12: MLC, Ravinder Sharma has demanded immediate provision of tents and relief for the affected families whose residential houses have been either fully damaged or unsafe for stay and also sought adequate provision of supply of ration.
After detailed tour of various parts of Nowshera and Sunderbani Sub-Divisions of district Rajouri, Mr Sharma said that affected people are putting up at various places in Government buildings or staying with the neighbours for the time being, as only Army has provided few tents/ Tarpauline etc.
He said, in the absence of any other help so far, these families can not shift back to their residences where they have other properties and livestock.
He also alleged shortage of adequate quantity of ration under APL category in the area at number of places and demanded arranging of required quantity of supply.
Sharma said that the rates and norms prescribed for the fully damaged kacha houses need to be reviewed and any kacha house which has become unsafe should be considered fully damaged.
He also questioned the amount of relief for various parts of Jammu region and the amount released by the Centre so far for different components of rescue and relief measures.
