RCB skipper Kohli keen on buying Yuvraj Singh

New Delhi, Jan 16:  In a bid to bolster their batting in  the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli has reportedly expressed his interest in buying India discard Yuvraj Singh, who has been going through a wretched run of form of late.
The dashing Punjab southpaw, who is likely to go unsold in this year’s auction, is learnt to have impressed RCB skipper and Indian batting’s mainstay Kohli.    Kohli is learnt to have spoken to Yuvraj and has informed Yuvraj that he wishes to buy him in the IPL auctions – scheduled to be held February 12 and 13.    The 32-year-old Yuvraj played the last edition of the tournament for the now-defunct Sahara Pune Warrirors. He has also played for Kings XI Punjab and though he currently remains out of the national side, his T20 record can make him a valuable asset for RCB.    With Kiwi left-arm tweaker Daniel Vettori being elevated  to the head coach’s role, the inclusion of Yuvraj will also add firepower to RCB’s spin-bowling  option.
The Bangalore franchise, which has never won the IPL, will be eying to re-jig their side after retaining three players from last year’s squad – Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.
Yuvraj has seven fifties from 34 T20Is and has a frightening strike-rate of over 153. His performance in IPL has also been decent with five fifties and a strike-rate of a little over 130. (UNI)
